An Open Letter To SWAMA
I'm a born leader with the skills of a poet,so whatever I've written I hope it be seen as offensive because that's not part of my intentions.
Today I was at the Studio, I saw artists spending their own cash, giving it all, their energy, oomph recording a song, with hope that people will love it,with hope that they'll get paid, they'll get booked and be able to put food on the table.
To be honest, it hurts, seeing people listening to music that ain't ours...we want kids to look up to their daddies and mommies, kids to have a wish and believe that dreams do come true. I'm just sick and tired of people mocking our music artists, that they're gonna die broke and all.
However, this letter is all about opening your eyes through telling you the facts,I dunno you but I have heard of you, the "Artists Dream Come True"
There are however points you're missing, these artists are hungry for shows, breakthroughs and to be listened too...I'm not an artist, but I live with them,I see their struggles, they're lagging cause they have no inspirations, their feet tremble cause they have nothing to work towards, nothing to wake up to.
Now here are my complaints.
It scares me when artists have to nominate themselves when it comes to awards, and pay for nominating themselves...it really does...
The last time I checked your aim was to help them shine, but its like their future as musician, poets, artists is blurry. Help them get paid, not let them pay you in order to get paid...because looking aback, you get money while they get nothing at all and that's bad....
I'd love to thank you for excavating talent through the T55 Talent Search, please do it again in the future and please can you try to hire local artists, that's necessary since they're under you and you promised them success..
I'm not gonna go further so I'll leave something for you to sleep on, Please consider the following this year:
-Putting your members' needs first
-Making shows for them, they're dying to live their dreams, they're dying to perform.
- Be their agent, get them shows outside the country..
-Try being their publisher, publish and sell their music..
Trust me, we wanna feel your presence, because right now, everyone has cold feet, that's why we wanna #FillUpMavuso.
Yours honestly

I couldn't have said it better... SWAMA should be a pilar to Swazi artists. All I see so far is nothing but corruption and that's just my opinion.
ReplyDeleteWe have put so much work, we have improved so much and we deserve better.
thank you Bandile. #FillUpMavuso #7000
